- Гото́вить\пригото́вить + accusative – to cook
Готовить обед\суп\ кофе\кашу\пельмени – to cook lunch\soup\ coffee\porridge\dumplings
Сегодня на завтрак я хочу приготовить омлет. – I want to make an omelette for breakfast today.
- Добавля́ть\доба́вить + accusative – to add
Добавлять сахар\соль\куркуму\приправы – Add sugar\salt\turmeric\seasonings
В это тесто нужно добавить сливочное масло. – Add butter to this dough.
- Разме́шивать\размеша́ть + accusative – to stir
Размешивать соус\тесто\чай – Stir the sauce \ dough \ tea
Добавьте муку в кипящее молоко и хорошо размешайте. – Add the flour to the boiling milk and stir well.
- Сма́зывать\сма́зать + accusative – to oil; smear
Смазывать противень\сковороду – Oil the baking sheet \ frying pan
Смажьте сковороду маслом, прежде чем начать печь блины. – Grease the pan with oil before you start baking the pancakes.
- Отделя́ть\отдели́ть + accusative от + genitive – to separate
Отделять желтки от белков – Separate the egg whites from the egg yolks
Чтобы приготовить бисквитное тесто, вначале нужно отделить желтки от белков. – To make a sponge cake, first you need to separate the yolks from the whites.
- Растира́ть\растере́ть + accusative – to grind
Растереть специи – Grind the spices
Чтобы зира раскрыла свой аромат, ее нужно сначала растереть. – In order for the cumin to reveal its flavor, it must first be ground.
- Взбива́ть\взбить + accusative – to whisk
Взбивать крем\сливки – Whisk cream \ cream
Начните взбивать крем на средних оборотах миксера. – Start whipping the cream at medium speed of the mixer.
- Соли́ть\посоли́ть + accusative – to salt
Солить суп\кашу\борщ – Salt soup \ porridge \ borscht
Бульон и мясо нужно солить практически в самом конце варки. – The broth and meat should be salted almost at the very end of cooking.
- Сме́шивать\смеша́ть + accusative – to mix
Смешай масло с сахаром до однородной массы — Mix butter and sugar until smooth.
- Раска́тывать\раската́ть + accusative – to roll
Раскатайте тесто и выложите на него начинку. – Roll out the dough and put the filling on it.
- Нареза́ть\наре́зать + accusative – to cut
Нарезать овощи\колбасу\сыр – Chop vegetables \ sausage \ cheese
Нарезать (+ instrumental) ломтиками\кубиками\кольцами – Cut into slices \ cubes \ rings
Нарежьте лук кольцами и добавьте в салат. – Cut the onion into rings and add to the salad.
- Жа́рить\пожа́рить + accusative – to fry
Жарить картошку\мясо\рыбу – to fry potatoes \ meat \ fish
Жарить следует минут 5-7 с каждой стороны. – Fry for 5-7 minutes on each side.
- Вари́ть\свари́ть + accusative – to boil
Варить суп\борщ – Cooking soup \ borscht
Чтобы приготовить борщ, нужно сначала сварить бульон. – To cook borscht, you must first cook the broth.
- Туши́ть\протуши́ть + accusative – to stew
Тушить овощи – Stew vegetables
Чтобы протушить говядину в кастрюле, нужно промыть мясо, а затем нарезать на небольшие кусочки. – To put the beef in a saucepan, you need to rinse the meat, and then cut into small pieces.
- Запека́ть\запе́чь + accusative – to roast
Запечь индейку\мясо\овощи – to roast turkey\meat\vegetables
Индейку маринуют, обжаривают со всех сторон до румяной корочки и запекают с брокколи, луком и морковью под фольгой в духовке 50 мин. – The turkey is marinated, fried on all sides until golden brown and roasted with broccoli, onions and carrots under foil in the oven for 50 minutes.
- Печь\испе́чь + accusative – to bake
Испечь пирог\пирожки\булочки\круассаны – Bake a pie\pies\buns\croissants
Моя бабушка научила меня печь пироги. – My grandmother taught me how to bake pies.
- Кипяти́ть\вскипяти́ть + accusative – to boil
Кипятить воду – Boil water
Перед употреблением я всегда кипячу молоко. – I always boil milk before use.
